Share the holiday cheer this season with Newburyport! The holidays bring forth the magic in the city as the landscape transforms into a scene from the Christmas Carol.
The brick-laid sidewalks lead to Market Square with a 40’ tree decked out to the highest as the centerpiece. Shop windows are ablaze with color, the lampposts ornamented with greenery, the scents of the season adrift from the fine restaurants and small cafés, all coming together to create this magnificent setting in a historic New England town.
Historic New England will hold a Holiday Fine Art and Gift Sale from
Friday, Nov. 23rd - Sunday, Nov. 25th. Tour the c.1690 manor house at Spencer-Peirce-Little Farm in Newbury and pick up the perfect present from a selection of fine art and gifts. For more information visit

Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive in town in style for the annual Santa Parade and Tree
Lighting
on
Sunday, November 25th. Santa and Mrs. Claus will arrive by U.S. Coast Guard boat at the Boardwalk & parade up to Market Square in downtown Newburyport to light the Christmas Tree. 4:30pm
The 2007 Polar Express will take off on
Saturday, December 1st. It's a magical journey to the North Pole leaves from the train station in Newburyport.

To brighten the children’s holiday spirit, Santa Claus will be setting up shop on Inn Street. Between noon and 4:00 the little ones can stop in to Santa’s Workshop and share their wish list and get their picture taken with Santa!

The first two Fridays of the December, the 7th and the 14th, are Newburyport’s
Invitation Nights when shopkeepers extend their hospitality, cheer, and warmth to the shoppers throughout the downtown area beginning at 6:30 until 9:00 p.m. Patriot Fife and Drum will perform on the 7th and the Pentucket Mallet Emsemble will perform on the 14th.

Scene, a Holiday Party at the Powow River Grille
will be held in
Amesbury on Wednesday, Dec 12, 6pm-Late.The event will raise funds for the Newburyport Chamber’s
upcoming Green Fair Expo.
Event sponsors include Powow River Grille, the Newburyport Chamber
of Commerce, the Amesbury Chamber of Commerce, Newburyport Five
Cents Savings Bank, Chase & Lunt Insurance, Newburyport
Pedicab, and SEED (Seacoast Energy & Environmental Design
Coalition). Cash bar cocktail hour starts at 6pm, followed by a three course
dinner featuring organic wine and food. Dancing to follow dinner;
live music provided by Memorial Drive, a Boston-based
R&B band. Newburyport Pedicab will provide valet service for
the event. $75 pp, includes complimentary cocktail upon arrival,
hors d’oeuvres, wine tasting and dinner. Excludes tax and

An old -fashioned sing-along will take place at the Firehouse Center for the Arts located in the heart of downtown Newburyport on
Saturday, December 15 at 11:00am. Join in song and then listen as "Twas the Night Before Christmas" is recited. Have your cameras ready as the kids meet Santa in the lobby at the end of the program. Please visit
