One of the greatest aspects of our community is its togetherness. Yes, there may be times that we bicker about sidewalks being cracked and…ummm…parking, but at the end of the day: when a community member is in need, our community responds.
Time is a valuable commodity for most, but ‘most’ also want to help out their community. For those individuals who can’t donate time to volunteer, this is a great way to help out. In this day and age, GoFundMe pages are all the rage. In a few minutes, you can be raising money for a good cause or somebody/a business in need. Take the unfortunate fires that took place this summer. Abraham’s Bagels had a nest egg within a few hours. Same goes for the residential fire this past weekend on Plum Island.
For those with some spare time, our community is filled with non-profits that could use your help. Whether it’s feeding the animals at Spencer Peirce Farm or being a docent at Custom House Maritime Museum, you can make a big difference in our community. Whatever your interests are, get involved!
