39th Annual Garden Tour

Museum of Old Newbury Issues Call for Gardens for the 39th Annual Garden Tour

Newburyport, MA – April 3, 2018: The Museum of Old Newbury’s Annual Garden Tour, now in its 39th year, is a treasured community event that showcases beautiful gardens throughout the Newburyport area. Over the past nearly 40 years, the tour has featured gardens large and small, designed by landscape architects and intrepid DIY-ers. Hardscapes, green gardens, and flowers in various gardens all combine to complement one another in a diverse mix showing off the talents of local gardeners and garden lovers.

This year’s event is scheduled for June 9 and 10 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The museum is seeking additional gardens in the communities of Newburyport, Newbury, and West Newbury to feature on the tour. If you are interested in participating and showcasing your garden, please contact the museum at info@newburyhistory.org or 978-462-2681. Garden owners who participate receive two free tickets to the tour, and a year’s complimentary membership to the museum.

The weekend’s events also include the museum’s annual plant sale, a free open house at the historic Cushing House and Perkins Printing and Engraving Plant, and the Gilded Horse boutique offering a fine sampling of home and garden accessories.
