Amanda Carr Returns to Maudslay Arts Center Saturday Evening
Vocalist Amanda Carr will share the stage with saxophonist Myanna and the Ken Clark Organ Trio this Saturday for an electrifying night of jazz, blues, and soul at Maudslay Arts Center.
A multi-styled vocalist/pianist, Carr began performing professionally as a teenager in the rock and pop genre playing in Boston area nightclubs. She has since received critical acclaim focusing on her fresh jazz and big band interpretations of the Great American Songbook.
Hailed as “…a true jazz singer in a time of wannabes” by writer Nat Hentoff, Carr has performed and recorded in the U.S. and abroad, including Australia and England.
Currently, she is Artist Liaison for ‘Boston Women in Media and Entertainment’ authoring a popular online interview series. Carr is an official CBS Radio commentator for Boston’s prestigious annual “Boston Pops July 4th” concert on the Esplanade with WBZ News Radio. With five jazz vocal recordings, global distribution and airplay, Carr continues to perform as a solo artist while remaining a popular guest artist.
