Family to Family Holiday Program

This year the YWCA and Newburyport Youth Services are running the Family to Family Holiday program.   This is their 6th year running this program which started with one elf and two families.  Last year they supported over 60 families.  There are no income or age restrictions, and they especially want to make sure that families with middle and high school students are included. Organizers also put together stockings for single elders in the community.  Nobody is turned away from this program.  The YWCA feels strongly that everyone should have a joyous holiday season.

In this program, families fill out a wish list of needs and wishes as well as share their interests and fun things they like to do as a family.  That question about family activities has generated a most important outcome – elves saying ”this family is just like mine!”  The family is matched with an elf who makes their wishes come true – for all family members, adults included.  Sometimes elves pair up, or are a company group or book group.

Families can go online to ywcanewburyport.org and will find a link to the Wish List Form on the home page.  Please spread this far and wide, so nobody is missed.

The YWCA is hoping to get as many of the Wish Lists back by November 9th so families can be matched with their elves.
