JGPR Jordan Mayblum Named "Rising PR Star" by PR News
John Guilfoil Public Relations LLC is proud to announce that two of its employees have been honored by a national public relations industry organization.
At the December 4 PR People Awards Luncheon at the National Press Club in Washington D.C., Account Executive Jordan Mayblum was named a national Public Relations Rising Star Age 30 and Under, joining an exclusive roster of young communications professionals who have made quality and client services cornerstones of their careers.
Additionally, company founder John Guilfoil received an honorable mention in the category of Government Communicator of the Year, marking the fourth consecutive year that Guilfoil has been honored by PR News. He was named Public Affairs Professional of the Year in 2015, Public Affairs Professional of the Year and Crisis Manager of the Year in 2016, and earned an honorable mention for Crisis Manager of the Year in 2017.
“I am incredibly proud to travel to Washington with the JGPR team to sit among some of the biggest names in public relations. We are a small company, but our employees make a tremendous impact in hundreds of communities every day,” said Guilfoil, who launched the company at the end of 2013. “Jordan has made a splash for some of our biggest clients during his time at JGPR, and I am very pleased to see him receive the recognition he deserves. Thank you to PR News for recognizing the work of our employees and the difference we make for our clients.”
Mayblum, 29, of Brighton, began working for John Guilfoil Public Relations in April 2017, following nearly four years of experience as an award-winning newspaper reporter. In his capacity as an Account Executive, Mayblum knows what is needed to craft a cohesive statements that appeal not only to the client, but to the media as well. His desire to take on new projects, like expanding his reach into the web development sector of JGPR, while continuously adding to his list of clients, demonstrates his clear ability to be a leader in this industry.
Shortly after Mayblum joined the JGPR team, he started working closely with JGPR’s largest clients, including the city of Rochester, New Hampshire and Andover, Massachusetts. He recognized immediately that Rochester was seeking to promote its business community, and he set out to produce a number of business owner profiles. Each profile, ranging from a Rochester native beautician opening her own business, to an antique shop with unique finds, to a candy store celebrating its one year anniversary, are prominently featured on the Rochester news and events portal.
Mayblum has also played a key role in two of the most-followed stories in New England over the past two years. He was on scene in Groton in 2017 during a deeply disturbing quadruple murder and coordinated social media, press logistics, and media interviews all while responding to local and national media inquiries late at night on a weekend.
Mayblum has also been deeply involved in the Town of Andover’s communications efforts during the Merrimack Valley Gas Emergency, including the acute incident, months of restoration work, and promoting the town’s business community, as Andover’s entire downtown and more than 100 businesses lost natural gas service at the peak of the incident.
