Harvest Happenings at Cider Hill Farm (all weekend) – Recently named the #1 Apple Picking Spot in the U.S. by Yelp, Cider Hill Farm has officially begun their 40th season of apple picking. Each weekend features free live music, hard cider bars, hayrides, lunch at their food truck, cider donuts and pumpkin treats. The farm is also bringing back their Outdoor Weekend Market where you’ll find all your fall favorites outside. The Farm Store and pick-your-own are open 7 days a week.

Newburyport Lantern Festival for Ovarian Cancer Awareness (Sunday) – Join the GNOCA in remembering families and friends while making wishes for the future. Lanterns will float at dusk at the Bartlet Mall Frog Pond in Newburyport.

Salisbury Beach End of Summer Beach Blast (Friday and Saturday) – Close out the summer at Salisbury Beach on Labor Day weekend with family fun and live entertainment at the Broadway loop. Friday night, join the Salisbury Beach Partnership from 7:15PM – 10PM for the last DJ Beach Party of the season with DJ Ralphie B + DJ Jeff B playing all your favorite summer tunes from oldies to new music with kid-friendly activities – hula hooping, bubble fun, dancing, and more! The fun doesn’t stop there – grab your chairs and blankets and close out the last Saturday of summer with their Bands on the Beach finale featuring No Shoes Nation 7:30PM – 10PM. Benches and picnic tables available and plenty of dancing room for everyone! Enjoy takeout from local restaurants, beach pizza, ice cream and more. Take a spin on the beach carousel or play games on the lawn under the twinkly lights at the beach center.

Music on the Piscataqua (Sunday) – The Gundalow Company presents OldHat Stringband, performing their mix of bluegrass, old time, folk & country music, aboard their relaxing sunset sail!

The Moving Wall (all weekend) – Yankee Homecoming Board of Directors is honored to be able to bring The Moving Wall to Newbury from September 2nd – 6th. The Moving Wall is a half sized replica of the Washington DC Vietnam Veterans Memorial measuring 252.83 feet long and composed of 74 separate frames. As of January 1, 2012 there are 58,272 names listed on the memorial. Approximately 1300 of these are still unaccounted for prisoners of war (POWs) and missing in action (MIA).
