Newburyort Chamber Music Festival to Hold Winter Baroque Concert
The Newburyport Chamber Music Festival hopes you were able to attend many of the summer events of their Newburyport Chamber Music Festival in August. Their summer festival is the only one of its kind in this area: an immersive experience for artists and audiences alike! In the course of ten magical days they observed the Festival musicians as they worked through considerable technical and artistic challenges to assemble this year’s magnificent program.
One of those musicians, violinist Miho Saegusa, is a member of the Aizuri Quartet. She just informed us of that group’s debut recording, Blueprinting. The recording is of compositions written for the Aizuri by five innovative American composers. Miho said that her quartet worked for years on these pieces and are so excited to release this music into the world. Follow this link to their website and learn why: www.aizuriquartet.com.
Even before this past summer’s Festival, Artistic Director David Yang and the board began planning for next year. They welcome feedback as they develop an equally memorable event in Newburyport for Summer 2019.
Meanwhile, mark your calendar and buy your tickets for the Festival’s December 16th “Winter Baroque” concert and listen to the sample of the Aizuri Quartet’s recordings on their website.
