Our Neighbors’ Table, a non-profit food assistance program that provides flexible and personalized programs to local communities, is hosting its third annual food truck festival at Cashman Park located at 202 Merrimac Street in Newburyport, MA from 12:00 to 5:00 pm on Saturday, Sept. 7.  Open to the public, this family-friendly event brings together food trucks, craft beers, live music, lawn games and arts and crafts for people from all over the Greater Newburyport, North Shore and Seacoast areas to enjoy.

Proceeds of the event will directly support the Our Neighbors’ Table mission: to provide access to fresh, wholesome food where and when families living in Northeastern Essex County need it. Every $1 donated puts one more meal on the table for a local neighbor in need. This year, Our Neighbor’s Table is aiming to raise $30,000, which will feed 30 neighbors for a year.

The food trucks will be in a section of the park designated “Food Alley” offering a variety of flavorful options featuring cuisine from Chicks & Dogs, Empanada Dada, Big Rig BBQ, Phoenix Rising Pizza, Metzy’s, and Sacred Cod as well as delicious desserts courtesy of Clyde’s Cupcakes. In “Beer Alley”, attendees can find refreshing craft beverages available from Ipswich Ale Brewery and Barewolf Brewing.

Additionally, adults and children alike can spend the afternoon in “Amusement Alley”, which will feature games and kid-friendly activities including corn hole, frisbee, and an interactive musical drumming activity held by a local youth volunteer.

“Our mission of creating a food-secure community in Northeastern Essex County is made possible by the incredible support of our volunteers, donors and attendees of events like the ‘Fill ‘Em Up Fest,’” said Lyndsey Haight, Executive Director, Our Neighbors’ Table. “While we have filled the plates of many of our neighbors, our work is far from over. With this event, we hope to raise awareness around the issue of food insecurity, celebrate the impact we’ve made, and cultivate more volunteers with the likeminded vision to end hunger in our community.”

Since January 2019, Our Neighbors’ Table has provided more than 1,054,483 meals to over 4,100 people in need. That’s over 120,000 pounds of food served in 2018 alone.

The Institution for Savings is the event’s title sponsor and a long list of other generous sponsors includes:
