Pennies for Poverty Port Pairings Competition
Pennies for Poverty will host the Port Pairings Competition 4-6:30 pm on Sunday, June 9, 2019. Event participants will sample savory bites and two-ounce cocktails prepared by some of Newburyport’s best restaurants.
Tickets are available exclusively online at
https://portpairings.brownpapertickets.com/ or at Greetings by Design, 1 Rear Water Street, Newburyport for participants 21-years and older. Participating restaurants include Michael’s Harborside, Oregano, Brick & Ash, Loretta, and The Paddle Inn.
The event begins at the Port Pairings table at Michael’s Harborside where IDs will be checked. Participants will then stroll through Newburyport with the aid of a map until they complete the tour at 6:30 pm. At that time, they will choose which restaurant pairing sampled the best.
The winning restaurant will be designated the “Best Port Pairing 2019”. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this Pennies for Poverty fundraiser will benefit nine non-profit organizations that help neighbors in need in the Greater Newburyport area.
“The 2016 Cocktail Competition was great fun. This new twist – competing for the best pairing of food and drink – will liven up a spring Sunday afternoon while supporting nine local non-profits.” – Jayne Cousins, Co-creator of the 2016 Newburyport Cocktail Competition
