Pennies for Poverty Hosts Session on Habitat Volunteer Opportunities in Salisbury
Pennies for Poverty, a charitable organization seeking to reduce housing and food insecurity, is partnering with the First Religious Society Justice Action Ministry to host a public session exploring Habitat for Humanity volunteer opportunities February 6, 6:30PM at First Religious Society, 26 Pleasant Street in Newburyport.
Meegan O’Neil, Habitat Executive Director, will highlight information about the Habitat for Humanity project to build seven owner-occupied homes in Salisbury. This project opens opportunities for citizens of Newburyport, Salisbury, Amesbury, and other nearby communities to offer a hand up rather than a handout. There are many ways to volunteer: help build the homes, welcome future homeowners, and help Habitat in other satisfying and productive ways.
