The Merrimack River Feline Rescue Society is gearing up for its 25th annual Fur Ball Gala and Live and Silent Auction on Saturday, September 28th, from 5:30 to 10 p.m. at the Andover Country Club in Andover, MA.

This year’s Fur Ball theme is “One Cause, Many Paws.”  Mackenzie Koch, director of development at MRFRS explains, “Over the past 27 years, MRFRS has helped thousands of cats, cat owners, and communities in crisis.  We look forward to celebrating all the lives we’ve touched, along with the countless people who have helped make these success stories a reality.”

The Fur Ball will be hosted by Doug Meehan of WCVB Channel 5’s EyeOpener News. The festive evening features hors d’oeuvres and dinner, a cash bar, live music, a raffle, a silent and live auction, and an ice cream sundae bar to cap off the event, which raises funds critical to the work of the organization.

MRFRS is a nationally-recognized, nonprofit volunteer-driven organization headquartered in Salisbury MA, which is committed to ensuring the health and welfare of feral and domestic cats and kittens by promoting pro-active, compassionate, no-kill programs.  Since its founding in 1992, the organization has assisted over 126,000 cats and kittens.

“It’s amazing to see the impact our work has had on cats and their caregivers over the years and the importance of our role in the greater community,” noted Gail Lynch, board president of MRFRS. “Spay and neuter education and services continue to be a primary focus, as we’ve seen an increased number of kittens come through the shelter and have booked record numbers on the Catmobile this year.”

Tickets for the Fur Ball are $95 and may be bought online by visiting mrfrs.org/furball beginning August 26th.  Only 200 tickets will be available, and the event is expected to sell out.  The online auction, featuring attractive items at all price points, will begin September 5th at biddingforgood.com/MRFRS.
