Cyclists Register for Tour de Greenbelt – 50/40/25-mile Rides to Benefit Local Land Conservation

Ride through the beautiful landscapes of Essex County when Greenbelt hosts its 4th annual cycle event to benefit local land conservation on Saturday, September 29th. The Title Sponsor of Tour de Greenbelt is Institution for Savings.

Whether a seasoned cyclist or a beginner, riders may choose one of three untimed routes, including 50 and 25-mile routes on scenic roads, and a new 40-mile “Gravel Grinder“ featuring off-road excursions. The routes showcase more than 50 of Greenbelt’s beautiful conserved properties. Proceeds from the ride help conserve the region’s farmland, wildlife habitat, scenic landscapes, and places for outdoor recreation.

Greenbelt’s historic Cox Reservation, 82 Eastern Avenue, Essex, MA, serves as the ride start and finish line for all routes, as well as a breathtaking location for the post-ride festivities. Riders can pre-register for Tour de Greenbelt online at www.bikereg.com/tour-de-greenbelt by September 24th, or on the morning of the event at the Cox Reservation. Event day registration opens at 7:30 am, and the ride starts at 9:00 am. Routes, maps, and cue sheets are available at www.tourdegreenbelt.org/.

Registration includes a bike jersey, on route support, water stops, a raffle ticket, and post-ride party. Family and friends are encouraged to join in the post-ride festivities and enjoy BBQ, beverages, and live music. Registration is $150 for members and $175 for non-members. Riders can also select the $50 fundraiser rate. Race day registration is $200.
