Untapped History Expands Service to Educational Programs
Untapped History is a critically acclaimed walking tour company dedicated to sharing the unique and unconventional stories of historic Newburyport and Massachusetts. Their organization is fronted by Eric Getz, a middle school social studies teacher and former museum exhibit producer, and Alex Cain, a college professor, author and professional historian.
They are pleased to announce that they have expanded their services to include educational programs for local school districts. Their organization is available to lead field trips, host school presentations or assist with curriculum development.
With recent revisions made to the Massachusetts History and Social Science Curriculum Framework, Untapped History is a viable resource that can assist your school in developing appropriate classroom presentations and educational programs that focus on Massachusetts’ local history.
What sets Untapped History apart from other historical groups is their experience and commitment to accuracy. Alex and Eric have over 50 years of combined experience developing award winning exhibits, interpretive displays, and classroom presentations. Their programs are carefully researched and supported by multiple primary sources. They utilize original and reproduced artifacts in order to provide students with a hands on experience that will foster further interest in the material culture of historic New England. Finally, their historical presentations are tailored to highlight the local history of a school district’s town or region.
